Just the leg press/hack squat I was looking for. When I started my search, I came across all of the major brands but there was always something I didn’t like. The Titan’s wide size or how the seat on the RitFit didn’t allow for a deep ROM for people of certain height. My search led me to the DD02. I wasn’t able to find any solid video reviews on this version. Only on the DD06. The biggest thing that stood out to me that the DD02’s sled can hold more weight than the 06, even though the 02 is considered its “compact size”. With the ROM issue solved and a better weight capacity, I made the order.

First and foremost, the instructions manual is garbage. Building this thing was one of the most frustrating and confusing endeavors simply because the instructions are not clear. The indicating arrows are SO small that you’re unable to exactly know where it needs to go. After 5 hours, I am blessed with a completed product. The other issue I came across with is not being supplied enough speciality washers for the rollers. I was able to get more at Ace Hardware, but I am working that out with seller.

The machine is sturdy, heavy and sleek. Some reviews indicated loud sounds when using the sled, I am happy to report that I am not experiencing sounds. The sled guides quietly. The platform does feel somewhat slippery, as someone else has stated. I will take their advice and put on a slip resistance tape to help with that. I don’t think it’s a safety concern, it’s more of a personal preference but it wouldn’t hurt to address it.

Minor adjustments that the company can make. Not enough to lower the stars so it’s a solid 5 from me. I am incredibly happy with the purchase and it’s a wonderful addition to the gym.

UPDATE: the machine is still working great, but in full disclosure this review that I made is not for the machine that it is now attached to. For some reason, I don’t see the machine that I bought listed anymore. So just be aware that my review does not apply to this machine that’s being sold right now for $700, my machine was $1500 and appears to be a lot more robust than the one that is being sold now.

Received the machine, fairly well packaged, scattered bumps and bruises on some of the hardware but nothing too concerning. I got everything put together and it is definitely a solid machine, carriage rolls smoothly, everything seems to be working as it should. I had a couple issues with a big abrasion on one of the pads, as well as another pad that had a misaligned hole that wouldn’t allow me to mount it to the carriage. I got in touch with customer service who are very responsive, and they sent out replacement pads right away. I did a bunch of research before buying this one, and bought it a little bit on a leap of faith because it had no reviews, but it was basically a 2.0 version from this company. The previous machine had gotten great reviews, but the weight max was a little under what I was hoping for. This 2.0 machine is so solid, can handle any weight that I am likely to put onto it. Everything works great, the pads are very firm and comfortable. A couple things to keep in mind:

if you are short, this machine may bottom out before you hit full range of motion. I am almost 6 feet tall and I feel like I am right on the edge of hitting my full range of motion.

This machine does not have a calf raise built into it like some other machines. If that’s important to you, you might want to look elsewhere

My only complaint with the machine is on the plate holders, they just have a cheap plastic endcap that seems to want to always pop off. that is such a minor point though. Overall, I am very happy with this machine, I love the linear bearings, if I was to do it all over again, I would buy this machine again.

The items showed up on time and well packaged with good instructions. One box came separate from the others, and when I reached out the vendor responded quickly and gave me the remaining tracking number. Positive experience and I would do business with them again.

I saw positive reviews on GMWD’s other products, but this one doesn’t have much out there so I kind of took a flier on it. I chose this item for the linear bearings and the higher weight capacity. The construction appear to be 15 gauge steel (I’m no expert) and is very well designed. I put it together by myself, though I would recommend getting help getting the sled into place if you have someone around. The movement feels really smooth and the machine doesn’t appear to have any stability issues whatsoever. At 350+ lbs I found that I was still able to tilt the machine back onto its wheels and move it around my basement, while still remaining incredible stable. The range of motion seems great for me (6’3”) and the machine quickly and easily can be swapped from leg press to hack squat. Good amount of plate storage and multiple loading points allow you to put a good amount of weight on the machine. I wish both foot plates were a bit larger but with it being a combo unit I can see why they couldn’t. The powder coat is ok and typical of value based equipment, but it’s already scratched in a few places and wouldn’t expect it to hold up to a lot of abuse. That’s really just a cosmetic concern tho. Along those same lines, the weight horns all have cheap rubber end caps that I expect will pop off from time to time, but no big deal for me personally as this is for my own use and doesn’t impact functionality. If I run into any issues I will update my review, but I feel like I got a good value for the features with this item!
